Beerenberg

Beerenberg is the world's northernmost volcano. The huge, glacier covered volcano cone is an impressive sight where it looms 2277 meters above the arctic ocean.

The last eruption occurred in 1985. In 1970 four square kilometres land was added by a huge eruption.
The crater is one kilometre wide, and filled with ice. Still there are vapour escaping from crevasses where the Weyprecht glacier escapes the crater to start it's way to the ocean.

New eruptions is expected, but it's hard to predict when.
